Day 1: Ha Noi

On your arrival, you are met local guide and driver who will take you to hotel for check in. If time is permitted, you will take an orientation tour of Ha Noi and take a cyclo ride (pedicab) around the ancient quarter of Ha Noi. It absolutely is a fascinating way to get the first look of this peaceful and beautiful city. Evening we enjoy the Water Puppet Show, a unique northern Vietnamese art performance that we cannot be missed on our schedule for today. We will have a chance to learn more about the rural life of Vietnamese peasants and national heroes via a series of history story which were beautifully demonstrated by the artists.

Day 2: Ha Noi – City Tour (B)

Start our day with a visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, this is a very special place for all Vietnamese and also famous for foreigners around the world to see the whole complex, Uncle Ho’s house on stilt where he lived and worked from 1958-1969, his fishing pond and his garden. Then we head to One Pillar Buddhist Pagoda built in 1049 by King Ly Thai Tong who ruled from 1028 to 1054. Further on our excursion, we visit to Van Mieu, Temple of Literature to dedicate to Confucius and his four best disciples. This was also the first national university of Vietnam built in 1076 within the temple to educate Vietnamese bureaucrats, nobles, royalty and other members of the elite. After visiting this wonderful place, we will have lunch at local restaurant and refresh. Later in the day we visit to Ethnology Museum which is very rich culture collection of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam. The simple agriculture stools, fish traps, hand weaving cloths, crafts, festivals, folk arts, traditional houses, and lively activities of each tribe are all here for us to discover. Finish our day at History Museum, we not only see the exhibits from stone age, bronze ages and rehistoric era to prove that there were the ancient Vietnamese living in Ha Noi but also the modern artifacts to show how the vietnamese has been strugling for independence, freedom, peace and love.

Day 3: Ha Noi – Ha Long (B,L,D)

A new exciting day waiting us to discover, we depart for Ha Long, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Hạ Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islands and islets in all sides reflecting on turquoise water. The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments.

There are a lot of photo opportunities on our way to Ha Long as we drive through the rural area, street markets, paddy fields, vegetable farms, poultry farms and lotus farms. We take a rest stop after 2 hour drive for a coffee break then continue to Ha Long Bay. At midday we board the overnight junk for the cruise. A welcome drink is well prepared for us as we get on board then check in and enjoy a pleasant cruise on the bay. Seafood lunch is served on board while the junk is slowly going among the islands and islets. There are some activities for us to join in in this afternoon; visiting to the cave, swimming at Ti Top beach, climbing up the top of Ti Top Island for panoramic view of the bay, kayaking in late afternoon or joining squids finishing at night. The junk is anchored in a quiet bay for overnight. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4: Ha Long – Ha Noi – Ninh Binh (B)

Morning just join the Tai Chi Class on sundeck for half an hour and then we will have breakfast. We keep on our excursion and visit to Sung Sot cave, fantastic stalactites and stalagmites in all different sides with beautiful natural color. Return to our junk and check out. Enjoy a pleasant cruise back to the pier for disembarkation then drive Ninh Binh. This city offers a wide range of interesting thing for us to do from Hoa Lu ancient capital, Dinh and Le temple, Trang An complex, the World Landscape Heritage, Cuc Phuong National Park, Phat Diem Cathedral, Tam Coc and Bich Dong.

On arrival, we check in hotel then free at leisure.

Day 5: Ninh Binh (B)

Start our day with a visit to Hoa Lu ancient capital which was the economic, political and culture center of Dai Co Viet, an independent Vietnamese polity founded in 968 AD by the local warlord Dinh Bo Linh who was known as Dinh Tien Hoang, the first Dinh Emperor. This site consists of Dinh and Le Temple dedicated to Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh Emperors. Continue our day with a boat ride to Tam Coc, picturesque scenery which is known as Ha Long on land. The Tam Coc (“three caves”) portion is a three-hour excursion by small boat along the Ngo Dong River beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The route includes floating through three natural caves (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long with its ceiling about 2m high above the water. Bich Dong is our next visiting place, it is a pagoda on nearby Ngu Nhac Mountain dating to 1428, comprising three structures: Ha, Trung, and Thuong Pagodas, in ascending order. Finish our day with a visit Phat Diem Cathedral and its architecture is a cross between Vietnamese and European styles. Although a church, it was built in traditional Vietnamese temple architecture. It was built of stone and wood in 24 years.

Day 6: Ninh Binh – Dong Hoi (B)

Just enjoy our day on the coach traveling southward to Quang Binh Province, we take High way 1, the main road link Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh City where we will stop at for lunch and then continue our journey to, Dong Hoi City, the capital of Quang Binh Province. Dong Hoi is located on the coast and has beautiful white sand beach which is well known by both local and foreign travelers. Our hotel is also located on the beach and that is very good and convenient for relax after a long day on the road. Check in our hotel then free at leisure.

Day 7: Dong Hoi – Phong Nha Cave – Hue (B)

Morning enjoy our breakfast at hotel then we check out for a wonderful day to visit to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park, The World Natural Heritage site. It is noted for its cave and grotto systems as it is composed of 300 caves and grottoes. A 2009 survey brought the total discovered length of the cave system to about 126 km with many areas still not well explored. The Son Doong Cave which was discovered in the 2009 survey by British and Vietnamese explorers, is considered the largest cave in the world. Even before this discovery, Phong Nha held several world cave records, including the longest underground river as well as the largest combined caverns and passageways. It takes only one and a half hour to the pier where we get a boat cruise to visit to Phong Nha Cave. Then we continue our way to Hue via Ho Chi Minh road to visit to Ke Sanh former American base and then we follow the national High way 9 toward to Dong Ha town, Quang Tri Province. This province was a hottest spot during the American and Vietnam War as it was in the DMZ area, hundred thousand ton of bombs dropping here. The bloodiest Quang Tri ancient citadel battle field, La Vang Church and Ben Hai River are live evidents for this terrible war. We also stop at Quang Tri ancient citadel for sightseeing and then La Vang Church on our way to Hue. Hue, a lovely and romantic city located on the bank of Huong (perfume) River. Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 and famous for the Citadel, Imperial City, Forbidden City and the royal tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty, the last feudal regime of Vietnam. Check in our hotel then you are free at leisure.

Day 8: Hue (B)

We start our excursion by taking a boat trip on Huong River to Thien Mu Pagoda which was built in 17th century on the top of the hill overlooking the river and Truong Son mountain range. This pagoda is one of the oldest Buddhist Pagodas in Vietnam and is not only an iconic simple but also the Buddhist school of Hue City. Visiting this site, we will see the old car which was used by Thich Quang Duc who drove to Saigon and decided to immolate himself to protest the Saigon government during the American and Vietnam War in 1963. After visiting this place, we continue our boat trip to Minh Mang's tomb which is located on bank of Perfume River. The master plan of this complex and all the buildings in the opposite sides along the main axis from the triple gates to the tomb looks like a lying body whose head is on the top of the burial place looking over the river. We finish our boat trip here then drive to Khai Dinh's tomb which is located on the hill step of Chau E Mountain. The tomb is a blend of Western and Eastern style and built in 1920. Return our hotel for lunch and refresh.

Later afternoon we visit to the Imperial and Forbidden City of Hue, most of the contraction sites of a heyday royal dynasty were destroyed during the turmoil of the war for many years but there is still the sense of grace and majestic of the rulers. Enjoy Vietnamese royal court music show, a World Intangible Heritage of Humanity (showtime is subject to availability). We finish our day with a visit to Dong Ba Market where can buy our souvenir, handcraft items, foods, many other things. Return to our hotel then free at leisure.

Day 9: Hue – Hoi An (B)

Today we will enjoy the most beautiful distance in Central part of Vietnam on our way to Hoi An, a World Heritage site. It is only 140 km long but there are many things for us to see. Tam Giang Lagoon, Lang Co Beach, Lang Co fishing village, Hai Van Pass, Da Nang City, Marble Mountain and Hoi An. Hoi An, a lovely ancient seaport city located on the bank of Thu Bon River is not only famous for its architecture, temples, pagodas, ancient trading houses, tailor shops but also the hospitality and friendly people of this place. We will have a short stop to view Lang Co Beach and this picturesque fishing village before we drive up to the top of Hai Van (Ocean and Cloud) Pass. It is really a fantastic panorama view of Nam O Beach and Da Nang City, the third largest city in Vietnam. The development of this city is incredible in term of its infrastructure and modernization. We also visit to Cham Museum which all artifacts were collected in My Son Sanctuary and it is absolutely an amazing collection of art and culture of Champa of Kingdom.

On our arrival Hoi An, we check in hotel then take a history walking tour to the ancient quarters of Hoi An and visit most of local tourist attractions such as: Thien Hau Temple, Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky ancient house and then you are free at leisure.

Day 10: Hoi An – My Son (B)

Morning we take a half day trip to a World Cultural Heritage site My Son Sanctuary of Champa Kingdom, which was very powerful and prosperous Kingdom in Southeast Asia from 4th century to 11th century. We drive 2 hours through rural area, rivers, paddy fields, mountains to this site for visiting these fantastic monuments of the Cham people and also have a chance to entertain Champa Traditional Dance show. After visiting this site we drive to Da Nang City for our lunch and then visit to Cham Museum which all artifacts were collected in My Son area and it is absolutely amazing collection of art and culture. We will end our day by stopping at Marble Mountain for sightseeing. Taking steps up to Huyen Khong Cave, which was used as the hospital during the American and Vietnam War. It is actually the pagoda which has a giant marble Buddha statue seating on the rock and facing the main entrance inside the cave. Continuing our walk up the steps to Thien Phuoc Pagoda on the side of this mountain facing the ocean. It is a fabulous sea view from this site. Finishing our day with a stop at the stone carving village where we may have some souvenir gifts for our trip. Then we get back our hotel and free at leisure

Day 11: Hoi An – Quy Nhon (B)

Morning check out our hotel and depart for Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, we take a short drive from Hoi An to Dien Ban and join the national High way 1 then travel southward along the coastline. We will stop at Sa Huynh Beach for lunch and then continue our journey to Quy Nhon City.

Quy Nhon has a varied topography, being extremely diversified with mountains and forests, hills, fields, salt marshes, plains, lagoons, lakes, rivers, shorelines, peninsulas and islands. Its coastline is 42 km long with sandy beaches, abundant seafood resources and other natural products of economic value.

On arrival check in hotel then free at leisure.

Day 12: Quy Nhon – Nha Trang (B)

Today we continue our journey southward to Nha Trang City that is well known for its beaches and scuba diving and has developed into a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of independent travelers as well as more affluent travelers on the Southeast Asia circuit; it is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists, with Nha Trang Bay widely considered as among the World's most beautiful bays. Tourists are welcome to participate in the Sea Festival, held biennially. We will stop at Phu Yen City on our half way for lunch at beach front restaurant. Later afternoon we arrive Nha Trang and check in hotel then free at leisure.

Day 13: Nha Trang  (B)

A full day boat trip offshore Nha Trang bay is our activity today. Just prepare our towel, swimming clothes, sun cream and sunglasses, we take a short drive to the pier then get on the boat for our trip to Mun Island. This island is the marine protected area which is one of four first marines protected area in the world admitted by the IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature. We will enjoy our swimming and snorkeling in this marine protected area with the variety of marine life and colourful coral reefs. Then we cruise to the fishing village for our lunch. After lunch time, we walk to Tri Nguyen Aquarium. Return to our boat then go back the pier for disembarkation.

Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Barbecue seafood dinner at local restaurant is a great experience for us to try. We just eat, drink and have fun like most local people do here.

Day 14: Nha Trang – Da Lat (B)

Morning breakfast at our hotel then we depart for Da Lat, the highland city located at 1500m above the sea level with cool climate all year round, established in early 1890s by the French as hill station resort. This romantic city is very popular destination for both local and foreign travelers as its scenic spots, its flower garden, lakes, pine forest and colonial villas, summer palaces of Bao Dai, the last Emperor of Vietnam are all for us to explore. We travel down the coastline to Phan Rang around 100km south of Nha Trang then take High way 27 leading up Da Lat via many passes on the way: Song Pha, Ngoan Muc, and Dran.

Late afternoon we arrive Da Lat, check in hotel and we take a sightseeing tour. Visiting City Flower, a spectacular collection of bonsai, flowers and topiary arts, Garden and Bao Dai Summer Palace. This colonial architecture palace was used as a retreat of King Bao Dai family during summer time and it consists of 24 rooms for 7 royal members, King, Queen, their 2 sons and three daughters.

Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 15: Da Lat – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Start our day with a visit to cable car station located on the top of the hill to have a great panoramic view of the city and take cable car down to Tuyen Lam Buddhist Pagoda. Visiting this site, walking around the garden and Tuyen Lam Lake, enjoying picturesque view of Elephant Mountain and then we depart for Ho Chi Minh City. The largest city in Vietnam. Its former name was Saigon which was well known as the “Pearl of Far East” during the French colony and today Ho Chi Minh has become an official name of this dynamic, bustle and hustle city since 1976. There are so many interesting thing to see in this city from very early in the morning until midnight. It is a pleasant journey for us to enjoy the scenery; pine forest, rain forest, tea plantation, coffee plantation, rubber plantation and there are so many things for us to see. We will have lunch at Bao Loc town and a coffee workshop that we may take some coffee bags or tea bags with us as a good souvenir gift.

Late afternoon we arrive Ho Chi Minh. Check in hotel then free at leisure.

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi (B)

Today we drive out to Cu Chi tunnel which is the most complicated underground system in Vietnam built in early 1948 and completed its 250km long around 1960. This is an amazing place where we are absolutely admired the way of the guerrillas’ living and fighting for their mission. The smokeless Hoang Cam kitchen where we will have a chance to taste the guerrilla’s food, the steamed cassava associated with peanut, salt and sugar is an incredible bunker to visit. Mr. Hoang Cam designed this special kitchen during the French–Vietnam War in Dien Bien Phu battle field and it became very popular as its smokeless chimney system in a later War. After finishing our visit to this site, we drive back Saigon for an afternoon city tour. The War Remnant Museum is a must for us to see and to learn more about the sorrow of this war that left unpleasant after- effect to the people and environment for years.

We finish our day with a visit to Thien Hau temple in China town and Binh Tay Market.

Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Can Tho (B,L,D)

Today we will enjoy the beautiful scenery in Mekong Delta area with hundreds of canal and river system and the most productive farm in Vietnam. On arrival Cai Be town, we take a boat cruise to visit to Cai Be floating market which is very interesting and popular in Mekong region. There are hundreds of trading boats anchoring on both sides of the river and these boats as the floating shops selling all different agriculture produce being hanged on the bamboo pole placing at the front of each boat as the sale signal. This floating market is usually very busy early morning before sun rise and its function is as the whole market on the river. After visiting this market, we continue our boat trip to local village nearby to view how local people making coconut candy, rice–paper, pop-corn, and local souvenirs. Return to our boat then relax while we are cruising across the Mekong River to the island where we take a short walk through the fruit garden and visit the farm. Then we enjoy our lunch at the farm, talk to the host, walk around fruit garden and bonsai garden and just take a little nap on the hammock before boarding the boat again heading to Vinh Long town. We disembark at Vinh Long then drive to Can Tho, the fourth largest city in Vietnam and the biggest city in Mekong Delta area. This charm city, the friendly people and their hospitality make it a unique character. A wonderful place to visit!

Day 18: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Early morning we will take a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market which is more activities of buying and selling, more boats and livelier than the Cai Be. Just enjoy a beautiful buffet breakfast on board while we are cruising to market. We are not only the travelers to visit to this market but also the buyers to purchase extra fresh and tasty fruits for our breakfast in this morning. Return to our hotel then relax or just take walk along the river bank or stop at the coffee shop for a drink.

Midday we check out hotel then drive to Ho Chi Minh City. Rest of the day is free for your own activity.

Day 19: Ho Chi Minh City – Departure (B)

There is activity for today. Just pack up and relax until your departure flight. The guide and driver will pick you up then transfer you to Tan Son Nhat Airport.
